Curt is putting in a nectar garden (a butterfly and hummingbird garden) on the west side of the back deck. After laying down landscape fabric, he loaded it with about 3 tons of dirt, then covered with mulch. We didn't want to dig there since the previous owner ran electric, gas, and/or cable through this area into the garage.
He's now started adding plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
Still to come: more plants and stepping stones.

Still need to add more plants, stepping stones, and finish the border.

Still adding more plants and a garden bench.
|
Cut a walkway through the deck railing to mirror the one on the other side of the deck. It will also be great for walking through the garden after the stepping stones are added.
